On 8th July 2022, our 5th Annual e-Resources Roundtable/Poster Conference brought together 18 primary, secondary and university teachers to share the lessons learned from online and blended teaching over the last two years. These lessons included innovative uses of technology to support students with motivation, comprehension, participation and increased opportunity for authentic and creative expression. Together with nearly 300 teachers from Hong Kong, Indonesia, India and the Philippines, we also looked ahead to consider how teaching and learning would continue to be shaped by new technologies and teaching strategies that emerged during the pandemic.
The Roundtable opened with a warm welcome by Prof John Erni, Dean of Faculty of Humanities, The Education University of Hong Kong, followed by a brief introduction about the HUMBOL and eTEACHERS projects by Dr Wang Lixun and Dr Tim Taylor. Afterwards, Prof Lim Cher Ping gave a keynote address on how technology could be used to improve the inclusiveness and enhance the quality of teaching in the classroom. His sharing soon sparked off an active Roundtable discussion in which all participants were invited to ask questions or share experience with Roundtable discussants.
After the Plenary Session, participants were also invited to join the 1st and 2nd Parallel Sessions, where presenters would share online teaching innovation exemplars and experience from a wide range of teaching contexts.
